The foundation of Arista cloud networking solutions for next-generation data centres and cloud networks is the Arista Extensible Operating System (EOS®). Arista EOS-based cloud architectures may extend to hundreds of thousands of compute and storage nodes with scalable management and provisioning capabilities. Because EOS is programmable, a number of software applications are made possible that provide services for virtualization, management, automation, and orchestration, as well as high availability, exceptional network visibility, and rapid integration.

With a single binary software image running across the whole Arista switching family, Arista EOS is a completely configurable and highly modular Linux-based network operating system.
